Approach

Photography is more than just clicking a camera button, it is creating a personal experience. The best stories are told by a photographer you can trust to not only capture how you feel, but to make you laugh, loosen up, and be present in the moment.

I typically work solo, and I do my best to blend into your celebration rather than run it. I prefer to shoot in good light, and if the good light happens to be in a field, a parking lot, a basement or a marina, I will totally do it. For the people portraits, set aside about an hour and a half in total and we will have plenty of room to move.

Fifteen years in, the work has turned up in GQ, Martha Stewart Weddings, Oregon Bride, Portland Bride and Groom, Style Me Pretty, Junebug Weddings and The Knot. Most of it still starts the same way, with two people who would rather be laughing than posing.
